October 6, Fineko/abc.az. The amount of oil on tankers in the world's oceans has increased again as global production grows.
ABC.AZ informs that the total amount of oil transported has reached 1.2 billion barrels, which is the highest since 2016. If we take into account the ships with oil that are not moving, the figure becomes the highest since 2020, when the pandemic undermined demand and traders stored barrels in everything from giant supertankers to small barges.
Global oil supplies are expected to continue to grow in the 4th quarter and early 2026 as production increases both inside and outside OPEC, and most market experts expect supply growth to outpace demand growth.
