October 7, Fineko/abc.az. There has been a sharp increase in the domestic production of textiles and clothing.

ABC.AZ reports that Ashraf Hajiyev, partner of research & consulting group SIAR, said this at a seminar on the theme "Developing the textile sector & promoting global integration" in Baku.

According to Hajiyev, high production rates demonstrate potential and capabilities of the industry: "Over January–April 2025, textile production increased by 18.7% and clothing - by 42.8%."

Hajiyev noted that manufacture in 5 product categories showed an increase of more than 200%: "Knitted shirts for men and boys showed a rise of 254%, knitted sweatshirts for women and girls – by 155%, suits for men and boys (including industrial or professional clothing made of cotton or artificial fibers) – by 206%.
