October 8, Fineko/abc.az. During the year, the wealth of the richest 1% of the U.S. citizens grew by 7% (by $4 trillion) and reached $52 trillion, ABC.AZ informs, referring to the report of the Federal Reserve System (FRS).

The assets of the top 10% of Americans totaled $113 trillion, or 67% of overall household wealth.

The main driver of growth was the rise of the stock market - the value of shares and investment assets of the richest increased from $39 up to $44 trillion.

Even the poorest 50% of Americans have increased their wealth by 6%, but the wealth gap remains huge.
