ABC.AZ informs that First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev stated about this during his speech at the Critical Infrastructure Defense Challenge-2025.

He stressed that cybersecurity is an investment in economic sustainability, not just an expense. It is predicted that economic damage from cyber attacks in 2025 will exceed $10 trillion, so integration of local and global information systems is important to ensure the economic security of the country.

"According to international analysts, the global economic damage from cyber attacks in 2024 will exceed $8 trillion, and by 2025 these costs are projected to exceed $10 trillion. Given the integration between local and global information systems that ensure transition to digital government and the digital economy in Azerbaijan, the formation of digital security solutions and human resources is important from angle of ensuring economic security," Aliyev said.
