Gold updates record to exceed $4,000 amid trade tensions between U.S. and China

October 13, Fineko/abc.az. Gold prices jumped up to new all-time highs in Asian trading on Monday, approaching $4,100 per ounce, as renewed trade tensions between the U.S and China boosted demand for safe haven assets.

ABC.AZ informs that the spot price of gold rose 1.3% up to $4,070.29 per ounce by 09:53, after reaching a record high of $4,078.05 earlier in the session. U.S. gold futures grew by 1.6% up to $4,089.45 per ounce.

Silver also reached an all-time high, taking advantage of momentum in precious metals.
