Russia-Azerbaijan cargo turnover totaled 6.8 million tons for past half of 2025

October 13, Fineko/abc.az. In the 1st half of 2025, the cargo turnover between Russia and Azerbaijan increased by 13%, reaching 6.8 million tons.

ABC.AZ informs that Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk made this statement at a trilateral meeting of representatives of the governments of Azerbaijan, Russia and Iran in Baku.

"In terms of automobile checkpoints located on the Russian-Azerbaijani state border, we have taken measures that have increased their capacity fivefold: from 400 up to 1,900 cargo vehicles per day. After the reconstruction of the Novo-Filya, Tagirkent-Kazmalyar and Yarag-Kazmalyar automobile checkpoints, the total capacity for freight transport on the Russian side will amount to 3,000 vehicles per day," he said.

Overchuk also noted that Russian imports from Azerbaijan grew by 9.5% in the first 7 months of this year, up to $742.4 million.
