ABC.AZ informs that the cost of living index in Baku is 30.5, reflecting moderate prices for basic goods and services.

According to Numbeo, average food prices in Azerbaijan are:

• Milk (1 liter) - 1.22 manats

• Bread (1 kg) - 1.53 manats

• Rice (1 kg) - 3.46 manats

• Eggs (12 pieces) - 2.48 manats

• Chicken fillet (1 kg) - 5.33 manats

• Beef (1 kg) - 11.54 manats

• Apples (1 kg) - 1.94 manats

• Bananas (1 kg) - 2.60 manats

The minimum cost of food is approx. 9.82 manats per day or 304.51 manats per month.

For comparison, according to the same source, Georgia is ahead of neighboring countries in terms of the high cost of its food basket, except Azerbaijan. Among the neighboring countries, the cheapest products are in Turkey, Armenia and Russia.

Thus, Azerbaijan is among the countries with higher food prices among the countries of the South Caucasus and the region.
