Copper rises in price after publication of economic data from China

October 15, Fineko/abc.az. The cost of copper is growing at moderate pace on Wednesday morning after the release of economic statistics from China.

ABC.AZ informs that this is evidenced by the trading data.

As of 9.36 a.m. on Baku time, December’s copper futures at the Comex exchange grew in price by 0.27% to $5,0365 per pound (about 0.45 kg).

At the London Metal Exchange (LME) on Tuesday, the cost of a ton of copper for delivery in three months fell by 2.24% to $10,578, aluminum by 0.92% to $2,737.5, and zinc by 2.63% to $2,941.5.

The copper market monitors the state of China's economy, which is the largest importer and consumer of the metal. According to the country's state statistical office, the annual producer price index decreased by 2.3% in September.
