November 4, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan needs to improve the rules for calculating non-oil/gas revenues.

ABC.AZ reports that Accounts Chamber’s chairman Vugar Gulmamedov stated this at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Industry & Entrepreneurship during the discussion of the Draft State Budget for next year.

He noted that the projected amount of non-oil revenues is used in calculating the relevant indicators of the budget rule, as well as in determining the provision of budget expenditures with sustainable sources of income: "The positive aspect is that for the first time, the Explanatory Document presents medium-term forecasts for financing current expenditures from non-oil/gas revenues. At that, we believe that calculation of non-oil revenues should take into account the methodological requirements applied in international practice, and the Law on the Budget System should also be clarified in this regard."
