November 6, Fineko/abc.az. The total amount of tax and customs privileges and exemptions in Azerbaijan has amounted to 7.7 billion manats this year.

ABC.AZ reports that  Azer Amiraslanov, the chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship, made this statement during the discussion of the draft law on amendments to the Tax Code.

He added that this figure is equivalent to 20% of State Budget revenue part.

"When determining tax and customs benefits, no distinction is made between forms of ownership. At that, 94.5% of all benefits fall on the non-oil sector," the MP stressed.

Amiraslanov also pointed out that in 2025, tax and customs privileges alone (excluding exemptions) will amount to 4.4 billion manats, and 99.7% of them account for the private sector.

"This data confirms that the main beneficiary of tax and customs relief is private business, not government agencies. At the same time, 95.9% of all benefits relate to the non-oil sector of the economy," Amiraslanov added.
