November 12, Fineko/abc.az. Global sales of electric vehicles grew by 23% in October.
ABC.AZ informs, referring to analytical company Rho Motion, that in October, 1.9 million fully electric cars and plug-in hybrids were sold worldwide. This is 23% more than in October 2024.
Sales of electric vehicles in Europe increased by 36%, up to 372,000. They were especially actively bought in Germany, France and the UK. Sales in China increased to 1.3 million electric vehicles.
In North America, sales fell 41% to 100,000, although they broke records in August and September. The cause of sharp drop is that in the U.S., starting on September 30, they canceled a tax break of $7,500 for new electric vehicles. In the rest of the world, with the exception of the European, American and Chinese markets, sales increased by 37% in October, with more than 141,000 electric vehicles sold. Rho Motion experts predict strong sales growth by the end of the year in both Europe and China.
