November 13, Fineko/abc.az. Quantitative indicators of education in Azerbaijan should be increased within the medium-term expenditures.
ABC.AZ reports that Accounts Chamber’s chairman Vugar Gulmamedov said this at a joint meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Agrarian Policy, the Committee on Family, Women and Children, and the Committee on Science and Education.
He added that more detailed and accurate indicators are needed to measure the set goals within the framework of medium-term costs: "It is necessary to increase and refine quantitative indicators for goals. This approach can expand the possibilities of evaluating the effectiveness of the funds provided and implemented."
The chairman also drew attention to the decrease in the cost of scholarships for secondary special education: "There is a decrease in scholarships for secondary special education, but this trend does not coincide with the growth in the number of students at this level."
According to Gulmamedov, the data on the agricultural sector also showed the need to improve the indicators: "The data we receive from key executive authorities shows that some indicators are inadequate for next year and better indicators are needed."
He noted that starting from next year, the mechanism for monitoring funds allocated to legal entities under public law will be improved: "Funds allocated to legal entities under public law and government products created on behalf of the state will be controlled through the treasury. This will strengthen control over the use of these funds for their intended purpose."
