November 17, Fineko/abc.az. Emirates Airline has signed a contract for the purchase of 65 wide-body aircrafts from Boeing Co. with a total catalog value of $38 bn.
ABC.AZ informs that the contract for the supply of aircrafts 777-9 was signed on the first day of the Dubai Airshow. It also includes the supply of 130 engines GE9X.
Deliveries will begin in the 2nd quarter of 2027.
After this deal, the total volume of wide-body aircrafts ordered by Emirates from Boeing reached 315 aircrafts and engines - 540. Emirates is the world's largest operator of Boeing 777.
Meanwhile, Reuters, citing sources, writes that Airbus may receive the bulk of orders for narrow-body aircrafts from flydubai. According to sources, flydubai will order nearly 100 aircrafts A321neo and only a few dozen of 737 MAX.
