November 18, Fineko/abc.az. Large-scale restoration and construction works are underway in the city of Khankendi as part of the Great Return State Program. The infrastructure has been updated – roads, water supply, electricity, gas and communication lines, a technical inspection of the entire residential and non-residential stock has been carried out. Unusable buildings were demolished, and modern projects were launched in accordance with the new general plan of the city.

ABC.AZ informs that Telman Kerimli, the executive director of the Restoration, Construction & Management Service in Khankendi, Aghdere and Khojaly districts, said this when delivering speech at an event dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the University of Architecture & Construction.

He added that occupation-era buildings that do not comply with the principles of urban planning have been demolished, and modern public spaces, catering facilities and functional urban structures continue to be built in their place: "Victory Park is of particular importance among these projects. It is both an iconic place and a new urban core that expresses the modern vision of Khankendi development. Today, besides Khankendi, rehabilitation and infrastructure projects are being implemented in the villages of Aghdere and Khojaly. Roads are being laid in villages, engineering and communication lines are being updated, and private residential buildings are being fully restored for the return of residents."
