December 2, Fineko/abc.az. We are increasing the number of people for whom the state pays mandatory insurance premiums by 9 times. We show that all known categories of people – children, pensioners, the disabled, the unemployed - will be insured by the state. For the first time, the law states that the unemployed will also be insured at the expense of the state.

ABC.AZ reports that Finance Minister Sahil Babayev said this during the discussion of State Budget 2026 at the plenary session of the parliament, which took place today.

"900 million manats have been allocated for these purposes in next year's budget. These are insurance premiums for about 7.3–7.5 million of our citizens. Close to 2 million people are employed - their insurance premiums are paid by the employee and the employer. Insurance for individual entrepreneurs is also provided by them. That is, at least 95% of the population will be fully covered by insurance. Who remains outside the coverage? Those who work, have income, and hide their income, that is, those who are employed informally," the minister noted.
