December 4, Fineko/abc.az. India intends to lease the Russian nuclear submarine for 10 years.

ABC.AZ reports, referring to Bloomberg, that negotiations lasted almost 10 years. India will pay approx. $2 billion for the lease.

Under the terms of the lease, the Russian submarine will not be involved in actual combat operations. Indian sailors will learn how to operate nuclear submarines while the country builds its own submarines.

From 2012 to 2021, India leased the Nerpa nuclear submarine from Russia, which was renamed the Chakra.
