December 8, Fineko/abc.az. Georgia will provide free rail transportation of Azerbaijani fuel to Armenia.
ABC.AZ reports that according to the decision of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Georgian Railways JSC will carry out one-time rail transit of fuel from Azerbaijan to Armenia through the territory of Georgia absolutely free of charge.
The information about this was confirmed by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of the country for news agency Imedinews.
The matter was clarified after reports in the Azerbaijani press about the obstruction of railway transportation of fuel by tariff barriers.
According to the agency, on December 5, the Georgian government received an official request for the transit of fuel from Azerbaijan as a partner country. On the instructions of the Prime Minister, Georgian Railways was given an immediate order to transport the specified cargo without applying tariffs.
The official parties had been informed of the decision: "Georgia has always been and remains a supporter of peace and cooperation in the region. Azerbaijan is always valued as a reliable partner."
