December 8, Fineko/abc.az. The State Customs Committee explained the decrease in the level of use of the Green Corridor regime by the introduction of a fully transparent risk assessment system.
ABC.AZ reports that SCC deputy chairman Natig Shirinov made this statement at the forum on the theme "Customs-Business 2025: Dialogue & Trust" in Baku.
He added that Committee’s board approved the updated risk criteria, which are now openly communicated to entrepreneurs applying for participation in the program.
"When an entrepreneur applies for the status of a participant in the Green Corridor, his activity is assessed according to specific risk parameters. If no risks are identified by all criteria, a corresponding document is issued. If a risk is detected by one of the parameters, the entrepreneur is transparently informed which adjustments need to be made before resubmitting," Shirinov said.
He stressed that the regulatory framework has been strengthened, and now there is a clear legal framework for both customs authorities and businesses.
"The level of use of the Green Corridor has lowered not because we do not want to grant this status. It's just that absolutely transparent risk assessment parameters have now been established," he emphasized.
