December 8, Fineko/abc.az. Chinese mining companies and energy producers have agreed on the fixed price for coal at 675 yuans (nearly $95) per ton in 2026. This level will be used for long-term contracts and affects the spot market.

ABC.AZ informs that the price of coal has decreased from record levels at the end of 2022 due to the stimulation of domestic production and increased imports. Despite falling prices, production remains stable. The share of coal in China's electricity production is now close to 56%.

Experts expect that coal prices in the near future will be in the range of $106–$120 per ton. Capacity expansion may continue for several more years, after which industry's growth will slow down.
