December 10, Fineko/abc.az. If the widespread use of new technologies, artificial intelligence and automation is not ensured, the competitiveness of companies and countries will seriously weaken.

ABC.AZ reports that SOCAR President's Advisor on Occupational Safety and Health, Mammad Alizadeh, made this statement at the Industrial Safety Summit 2025 in Baku.

"If we do not effectively use new technologies, AI and automation, we will seriously lose competitiveness both at the individual and corporate levels, as well as at the level of society and the state," he said.

According to Alizadeh, one of the main risks associated with artificial intelligence is that people are left out of the decision-making process due to over-reliance on fully automated systems: "There is a real risk that people will begin to fully transfer decision-making functions to artificial intelligence. But there is responsibility and accountability behind every decision. If AI's advice leads to a discrepancy, incident, or risk, the question will inevitably arise: how was this result obtained?" he stressed.
