Appointment of state bank’s head from the Ministry of Economy

December 11, Fineko/abc.az. A new head of the state bank has been appointed from the Ministry of Economy.

ABC.AZ reports that Elnur Allahverdiyev was elected a member of the Supervisory Board of Azər-Turk Bank. Allakhverdiyev is also the head of the Corporate Governance Department of the Ministry.

In 2016-2020, Elnur Allakhverdiyev worked as head of the department at the former State Securities Committee, from 2020 to 2024 - head of the Licensing Department at the Central Bank, in 2024 he held the position of deputy head of the Main Directorate of National Revenue of the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy. He has been in his current position since the end of last year.

Azər-Turk Bank was founded in 1995. 51% of the bank's shares belong to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), 24% to the State Service for Property Issues under the Ministry of Economy, 12.4% to Turkish Ziraat Bank, 1.1% to Ziraat Bank International, 6.5% to AzRe Təkrarsığorta, 5% to Qala Hayat Sığorta.
