December 12, Fineko/abc.az. Over the past 11 months, our country produced 407,500 tons of methanol (methyl alcohol) (13% less versus Jan-Nov 2024), ABC.AZ informs with reference to the State Statistics Committee.

As of December 1, 2025, 33,800 tons of finished product residues were formed.

Methanol is produced at the methanol plant of the Azerbaijan State Oil Company (SOCAR) in Garadagh district of Baku.

Commissioned in 2013, the plant has been operating under the management of SOCAR's subsidiary SOCAR Metanol LLC since 2016, and has been owned by the company since August 2017. The capacity of the enterprise is 650,000-700,000 tons of methanol a year. Natural gas and salt water are used as raw materials in production.
