December 12, Fineko/abc.az. Russian specialists INGG SB RAS and SakhalinNIPI Oil & Gas have created an improved algorithm for searching for hydrocarbons, using a Bayesian classifier and maps of a priori probabilities.

ABC.AZ reports that the new method has improved the accuracy of seismic facies analysis, which previously depended on manual processing and subjective assessments. The algorithm combines seismic, borehole, and geological data, making it possible to more reliably predict new oil and gas deposits.
