January 9, Fineko/abc.az. Meta signed several long-term contracts for the supply of nuclear power with total capacity of up to 6.6 GW to ensure the operation of data centers and development of artificial intelligence infrastructure in the U.S.
ABC.AZ reports that deals have been concluded with Vistra, TerraPower and Oklo, complementing previously reached agreements with Constellation Energy. The projects envisage extending the operation of nuclear power plants in Ohio and Pennsylvania, and electricity will be used, among other things, for the Prometheus computing cluster.
Oklo shares rose almost by 17% after the announcement of the agreements. The company will build advanced nuclear reactors in Ohio with capacity of up to 1.2 GW by 2030. Meta predicts the creation of several thousand jobs during the construction phase and hundreds of permanent jobs for operation, expecting to generate up to 6.6 GW of clean energy by 2035.
