Over 342,000 flights operated in Azerbaijan's airspace in 2025

January 14, Fineko/abc.az. The number of flights through the airspace of Azerbaijan in 2025 exceeded 342,000, ABC.AZ was informed at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport.

In 2025, the aviation sector of Azerbaijan maintained a trajectory of sustainable development, characterized by growing transit potential and strengthening international trust.

"The maintenance of more than 342,000 flights in the country's airspace, which is 10.5% more than in 2024, clearly demonstrates the reliability of the aviation infrastructure and the strengthening of Azerbaijan's position as a regional transport hub," the airport says.

The most intense period of air traffic occurred during the summer months: on August 9, 2025, a historical record was registered - 1,101 flights were operated during the day.

Transit flights made up 76% of overall volume of flights - more than 261,000 operations. The growth of transit traffic reached about 14%.

Turkish Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Thai Airways and Lufthansa are among the world's leading airlines using Azerbaijan's airspace for transit transportation.
