January 19, Fineko/abc.az. The wealth of billionaires in 2025 grew 3-fold faster than in previous years, reaching a record high of $18.3 trillion, ABC.AZ informs with reference to the Oxfam report.

In a report timed to coincide with the opening of the World Economic Forum in Davos, the charity said that the wealth of the world's billionaires increased by 16% in 2025, continuing to grow by 81% from 2020.

The report shows that these successes have been achieved despite the fact that one in four people in the world has difficulty eating regularly, and almost half of the world's population lives in poverty. Oxfam considers such a gap to be a threat to democracy.
