January 22, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank of Turkey has reduced its key interest rate from 38% to 37%, ABC.AZ informs, referring to the regulator’s statement, made following the meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee.

"The Monetary Policy Committee has decided to reduce the discount rate, the weekly repo auction rate, to 37%," the report says.

The bank will announce the rate decision next time on March 12.

In June 2023, the Central Bank of Turkey raised the discount rate from 8.5% to 15% for the first time in more than two years, after which it regularly revised it upward until March 2024. The regulator has kept the rate unchanged at 50% for eight months in a row. In December 2024, the Central Bank began a consistent reduction in the key rate.
