U.S. withdraws from WHO with unpaid debt of $260 million

January 23, Fineko/abc.az. The U.S. has withdrawn from the World Health Organization (WHO), leaving an unpaid debt of $260 million, ABC.AZ reports with reference to Bloomberg.

Donald Trump cited the organization's actions during the COVID-19 pandemic as the reason for its withdrawal from WHO, and according to Trump, its inability to demonstrate independence from the inappropriate political influence of WHO member states, as well as higher financial contributions from the U.S. compared to other countries.
