January 23, Fineko/abc.az. The Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan agreement on the elimination of double taxation with respect to taxes on income and the prevention of tax evasion entered into force on January 1, 2026.
ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Tax Service that this is the first agreement between the two countries in the field of eliminating double taxation. It is noted that the agreement applies to persons who are residents of one or both states.
The list of taxes covered by the agreement includes taxes levied on the total amount of income or its individual elements, including income from the alienation of movable and immovable property, wages and other payments made by enterprises, as well as income received as a result of property appreciation.
According to the document, personal income tax and corporate income tax in both countries are exempt from double taxation.
