January 27, Fineko/abc.az. Japanese corporation Mitsubishi (Japan) will begin importing rare metal gallium from Kazakhstan for the first time.

ABC.AZ reports that deliveries will start in 2026 and will average 15 tons a year.

The entire volume will be produced in Kazakhstan and shipped directly to Japan.

The contract was signed during the official visit of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Tokyo and became part of Japan's strategy to diversify supplies of critical materials amid restrictions from China.
