February 2, Fineko/abc.az. The European Union is preparing a range of restrictive measures against Kyrgyzstan in connection with Russia's assistance in circumventing sanctions.
ABC.AZ reports, citing Bloomberg, that as part of the next package of sanctions against Moscow, the EU is considering the possibility of using a mechanism to counter sanctions circumvention for the first time. In particular, it is planned to ban the export of machine tools and certain electronic equipment to Kyrgyzstan.
In addition, according to Bloomberg, the EU intends to impose additional restrictions on Russian banks and oil companies, as well as services in the field of cryptocurrencies and financial institutions of third countries that help Moscow circumvent EU sanctions.
The proposed package also envisages new trade restrictions on a number of companies, goods needed by Russia for the production of weapons, as well as restrictions on imports of certain types of Russian metals, the sources say.
