February 2, Fineko/abc.az. The chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan will not be considered the highest official of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

ABC.AZ informs that this issue is reflected in the draft law "On approval of amendments to the Constitution of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic", discussed at today's plenary session of the Parliament.

According to the current legislation, the NAR Supreme Majlis’ chairman is the highest official of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. This article also reflects the powers of the highest official of the NAR.

The bill proposes to repeal this article.

The bill was put up for discussion and adopted on the second vote. The first vote was held on July 8, 2025.
