U.S. to cancel extra duties on Indian products because of purchases of Russian oil

February 3, Fineko/abc.az. The U.S. will cancel additional duties imposed on products from India because of country's purchase of oil from Russia, ABC.AZ informs, referring to The Washington Post.

A White House official told the newspaper that Washington would cancel the tariffs, which were designed to "punish India for purchasing Russian oil". The duties of 25% have been in effect since August 2025.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump said that India had agreed to stop buying Russian oil. In addition, the countries have agreed on a new trade agreement, which provides for a reduction in duties for New Delhi from 25% to 18%, 360.ru writes.
