February 4, Fineko/abc.az. The European Commission has officially launched a large investigation into Chinese company Goldwind, which occupies more than 15% of the global wind turbine market.
ABC.AZ reports that the regulator suspects that the company may have received government subsidies from China (subsidies, preferential loans and tax preferences), which distort competition in the EU market.
Preliminary data collection began back in April 2024. Following its results, the European Commission announced signs of undermining the EU internal market. If violations are confirmed, anti-dumping duties and requirements for adjusting the company's activities are possible. Similar measures have previously been applied by the EU to Chinese electric vehicles, which has strained economic relations with Beijing.
