February 10, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Georgia have signed a protocol covering the issues of digitalization and development of cargo transportation along the Middle Corridor and corridor diagnostics.
ABC.AZ informs with reference to Azerbaijan Railways CJSC that a quadrilateral meeting was held in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, between Rovshan Rustamov, the chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY), Mammad Akmammedov, Minister of Railway Transport of Turkmenistan, Zufar Narzullayev, chairman of board of Uzbekistan Temir Yullari JSC, and Lasha Abashidze, general director of Georgian Railway JSC.
The sides discussed the possibilities of expanding cooperation in the railway sector, including within the Middle Corridor, which is one of the main transit routes in the region.
Exchange of views also took place on increasing the competitiveness of the Middle Corridor and increasing the volume of traffic along this route; importance of digitalization of operations in terms of faster cargo transportation was emphasized.
It was noted that the Memorandum of Understanding signed in August of 2025 in the city of Turkmenbashi in the field of transport and logistics cooperation between the Ministry of Digital Development & Transport of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Railway Transport of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan makes an important contribution to the expansion of cooperation.
A protocol was signed following the quadrilateral meeting.
