CBA makes changes to procedure for exchanging national banknotes

February 16, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan has made changes to the procedure for exchanging national banknotes in order to improve public services.

ABC.AZ informs with reference to the CBA that starting from March 2, 2026, the service for exchanging national banknotes will be rendered free of charge at branches and sub-branches of operating banks - International Bank of Azerbaijan and Kapital Bank, operating throughout the country. It was noted that from this date, Central Bank's Cash Office located at 27 Bulbul Avenue, Baku, will cease operations.

At the same time, the sale of commemorative banknotes, as well as issuance of banknotes purchased through Central Bank's online sales system will be carried out from March 2 in Bank's administrative building at 90 Rashid Behbudov Street, Baku. The issuance process will be carried out on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00.

The CBA also announced that the sale and repurchase of investment coins will continue as before through agent banks - Bank of Baku and TuranBank.
