China urges U.S. to lift tariffs after Supreme Court ruling against Trump's policies

February 23, Fineko/abc.az. China is evaluating the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court, which ruled that Donald Trump exceeded his authority by imposing large-scale trade tariffs in 2025. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce called on Washington to cancel unilateral measures and stressed the need for cooperation, not confrontation.

ABC.AZ informs that despite the court's decision, Trump announced a new tariff of 10%, later raising it to 15%. Beijing said it would closely monitor the actions of the U.S. and was ready to defend its interests.

The tariffs imposed in early 2025 provoked trade tensions between the countries, although there was a partial reduction in tension by the end of the year. Other countries are also waiting for clarity on the U.S’ tariff policy. Against this background, Trump is planning a visit to China in late March or early April.
