February 23, Fineko/abc.az. According to preliminary data, as of February 1, 2026, the unemployment rate in Azerbaijan remains stable at 5.2% (279,300 people), ABC.AZ informs, referring to the State Statistics Committee.

The unemployment rate has remained stable at 5.2% since June 2025.

The number of economically active population of the country totaled 5.384 million people, and 5.105 million of them are employed.

As of January 1, 2026, the number of employees amounted to 1.808 million, including 865,800 people in the public sector of the economy and 942,200 people in the non-governmental sector.

30,500 people are employed in the oil & gas sector of the economy and 1,777,500 people in the non-oil/gas sector.

As of February 1, 2026, the number of the unemployed registered by the local authorities of the State Employment Agency amounted to 245,600 people, of whom 51.9% were women. The average monthly amount of unemployment insurance totals 446.6 manats.
