March 4, Fineko/abc.az. In 2025, Azerbaijan imported 131,335 tons of potatoes (excluding seed potatoes) for $47.54 million (8% less in volume and 22% less in cost against 2024), ABC.AZ informs with reference to the State Statistics Committee.

Azerbaijan purchased 59,961 tons (+6-fold) of potatoes from Turkey for $20 million (7-fold more than a year earlier); 22,061 tons (-8%) for $7.75 million (-3%) from Georgia; 16,592 tons for $7.13 million (+230 once in value, +166-fold times in volume); from Russia - 16,000 tons for $5.97 million (-28% in value, -52% in volume); from Iran - 13,551 tons for $4.71 million (-73% in value, -80% in volume).

In 2024, 46.5% of overall imports (142,897 tons) of potatoes was carried out from Iran, 23.2% from Russia, and 16.8% from Georgia.

Azerbaijan also acted as an exporter: last year, our country exported 71,430 tons of potatoes for $28.39 million (+48% in volume, +38% in value). In particular, 59,975 tons for $22.97 million (+41% in volume, +26% in value) were delivered to Russia, 5,693 tons for $3.15 million (+2.7-fold in volume, +3-fold in value) to Belarus, 4,394 tons to Ukraine for $1.82 million (+50% in volume, +95% in value), to Georgia — 1,000 tons for $303,400 (+52% in volume, +49% in value), to Kazakhstan — 214 tons for $85,400 (+5.1-fold in volume, +4.7-fold in value cost).
