March 5, Fineko/abc.az. German automobile concern Volkswagen Group has supplied 4 million electric vehicles since the start of sales of such models in 2013.
The group says that it took 10 years for the company to sell its first million fully electric cars. It took only one year to reach the fourth million, Volkswagen CEO Oliver Blume emphasized.
ABC.AZ informs that more than two thirds of company's electric cars were sold in Europe. 20% of deliveries accounted for China, 8% for the U.S., and 5% for all other countries.
Compact cars have become the most popular class of Volkswagen electric vehicles - their share in total sales is around 70%. This category includes such popular models as VW ID.3 and ID.4, Skoda Enyaq, Cupra Born and Audi Q4 e-tron. In total, the Volkswagen Group brands offer over 30 fully electric passenger car models, as well as electric trucks and electric buses under brands Scania, MAN and Volkswagen Truck & Bus.
Since the beginning of the year, Volkswagen's capitalization has decreased by 8.4%, to 47.68 billion euros.
