March 6, Fineko/abc.az. The processes taking place around the Middle East and Iran will lead to an increase in prices for products coming to Azerbaijan from this country.

ABC.AZ reports that economist Vugar Oruj, the chairman of the Azerbaijan Society of Appraisers, attributed this to the pressure on the Iranian market.

According to Oruj, the conditions of the war lead to higher prices, but this will not have a serious impact on the Azerbaijani market: "The share of Iranian products in the Azerbaijani market does not exceed 5%. Earlier, during the period when Karabakh had not yet been liberated from occupation and Nakhchivan was under complete blockade, this would certainly have had a very serious impact on the Azerbaijani market.

Because of the closed land borders, as well as because today socio-economic and political ties between Nakhchivan and the central part of the country are established at a higher level, I think that in the event of an increase in the price of Iranian products, when working on alternative import programs, this will not have such a significant impact on the domestic market.

In this case, vegetables, fruits, herbs, flour and dairy products, as well as some production materials and components imported from Iran, will be subject to price increases. I think that as a result of the increase in oil prices, we can initially expect an increase of about 3-10%. However, if the war drags on, the prices of these goods may rise even up to 20%."
