March 6, Fineko/abc.az. German aviation group Deutsche Lufthansa AG generated record revenue of 39.6 billion euros (+5%) in 2025, while operating profit increased by 25% up to €2 bn. However, the operating margin remains low at 4.9%, and net profit decreased to €1.3 bn.

ABC.AZ informs that temporary factors helped the profit growth - lower kerosene prices and a weak dollar, which brought approx. €860 million in savings for the company. At the same time, the main brand of Lufthansa Airlines showed minimum operating margin of 0.9%, while significant portion of the profit was provided by the divisions of Lufthansa Cargo, Lufthansa Technik and ITA Airways.

Group's airlines carried 135 million passengers with a record of 83.2% seat load. Management expects profit growth in 2026, but does not provide an accurate forecast due to geopolitical uncertainty in the Middle East.
