March 11, Fineko/abc.az. The share of innovatively strong companies in Germany has lowered to 13%, while around 40% of enterprises belong to the category with weak innovations.

ABC.AZ informs that Bertelsmann Foundation’s expert Armando Garcia Schmidt noted that country's innovation base is shrinking amid increasing international competition.

The decline is especially noticeable in industrial sectors, where companies are less likely to introduce radical innovations and more often limit themselves to gradual improvement of products and processes. Despite the fact that nearly 70% of firms use artificial intelligence, sophisticated technologies, such as CO₂ capture, are used only to limited extent.

Experts warn that without drastic measures, Germany risks losing its technological competitiveness, especially amid the backdrop of prolonged economic downturn and industrial cuts.
