March 12, Fineko/abc.az. The WhatsApp administration has launched a new feature - accounts managed by parents. It will allow parents and guardians to monitor the use of the messenger by younger children.
ABC.AZ reports that external controls will help, for example, limit WhatsApp's capabilities to calls and messaging only. To set up this feature, you will need two devices: one owned by the parent and one purchased for the child. A parent can manage a controlled account, control who the child communicates with, and which groups they can join. The parent can view correspondence requests from unknown contacts and privacy settings of the child's account.
The child does not have the ability to control the parental controls - they open when entering the PIN code. This means that viewing and privacy settings in the controlled account are available only to the parent, who also manages the content that the children see. The function of accounts under the control of a parent will be deployed in WhatsApp gradually over the coming months, Service’s administration clarifies.
