March 16, Fineko/abc.az. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has started procurement procedures within the Azerbaijan Railways Digital Transformation Project, and an international tender procedure has been announced for the project.
ABC.AZ informs, referring to ADB, that the project envisages digitalization of the main operational processes of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) and is funded by a loan of $47 million.
The financing was allocated within the ADB loan No. 4497-AZE.
The main objective of the project is to increase the efficiency of management and operations in the railway sector. In this context, it is planned to digitalize railway transportation management, asset management, planning and investment management, a system for working with freight customers, as well as corporate functions.
As a result of the project, it is expected to improve data management, optimize asset management, increase the overall efficiency of railway operations, reduce costs, enhance railway safety and increase labor productivity.
At the same time, the project will fully integrate ADY's core business processes into a single information management system, as well as enhance the skills of company's employees in the field of information technologies.
The project will be implemented nationwide, and one of the main goals is to ensure the sustainable development of the railway sector in Azerbaijan.
