December 3, Fineko/abc.az. The foreigners in Azerbaijan carried out banking operations through plastic cards for AZN 1.119 bn for the first 10 months of 2018.

The review of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms & Communications shows that cost of operations increased by AZN 248 million or 28% versus the 2017 same term.

"In October alone the foreigners paid AZN 117 million in goods and services with bank cards or 57% more than in October of 2017," the review says.

2.42 million foreigners and stateless persons visited the country over Jan-Oct of the year. Of them, 31.1% are citizens of Russia, 20.2% - Georgia, 10.1% - Turkey 8.9% - Iran, 3.2% - UAE, 2.8% - Saudi Arabia, 2.6% - Iraq, 2% - Ukraine, 1.6% - Israel, 17.4%- other countries and 0.1% of persons without citizenship.
