Azerbaijan bans poultry import from Iran

December 7, Fineko/abc.az. The State Food Safety Agency (AQTA) warns about the risk of spreading the avian influenza virus.

AQTA reports that the avian influenza virus has been detected in the Tehran district of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

"In this regard, a temporary ban has been imposed on import of live poultry and poultry products from Tehran County. The Agency also appealed to the State Customs Committee on the occasion of disinfection of transit cargo from the Tehran County on the border," AQTA said in a statement.
