May 2, Fineko/abc.az. Analytical agency Turstat has published the rating of cities of the CIS countries, that are popular for traveling for Russian tourists on May holidays this year.

The Agency reports that tourist trips to Azerbaijan, Belarus and Kazakhstan are leading in the ranking of tourist trips to the CIS countries on May holidays.

"Top 10 of CIS cities for tourists in May include Baku, Minsk, Nur-Sultan (Astana), Yerevan, Almaty, Tashkent, Bishkek, Chisinau, Dushanbe and Ashgabat. Tourists come to the CIS cities in May for 3-5 days and spend from $60 to $120 a day for food and accommodation," Turstat says.

In Russia the May holidays are held from 1 to 5 May and from 9 to 12 May. The rating is based on the results of the analysis of the popularity of May’s tourist trips.
