May 20, Fineko/abc.az. A meeting with farmers of Geranboy district has been conducted under the chairmanship of Agriculture Minister Inam Kerimov. The meeting was devoted to the current situation in the agricultural sector and the upcoming tasks.

Speaking at the meeting with farmers, Kerimov stated that agriculture is a leading part of the non-oil sector in Azerbaijan.

"The government provides great support to agriculture, giving subsidies for development of grain-growing, seed-farming, livestock, beekeeping, sugar beet and cotton industries. In particular, the government applies benefits in connection with provision of agricultural machinery. The purpose of such meetings is to listen to the concerns and problems of farmers and take immediate measures," the minister said.

He informed the farmers about the work done in the direction of agricultural development and the forthcoming tasks.
