Undeclared jewelry found in hand luggage

December 14, Fineko/abc.az. Employees of the Air Transport Main Customs Administration of the State Customs Committee (SCC) have prevented smuggling of a large amount of jewelry.

The SCC reports that a large quantity of silver jewelry not declared to customs control was revealed in a rucksack of a Russian citizen as a result of check.

"Jewelry was discovered in the backpack of the passenger, who arrived by Istanbul-Baku flight, when he was passing through the x-ray machine at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport. When checking the hand baggage of the Russian his bag was discovered silver jewelry, not presented to customs control and not declared in oral, electronic or written form," the Committee said.

According to the SCC, the examination found out that the revealed jewelry was made of alloy of silver of 925th sample with total weight of 14 kg 191.02 g.

The investigation on the fact is ongoing.
